Introduction
How the FACC Works
Objectives
The
Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of San Diego
County ( FACC-San Diego ) is a non-profit organization
committed to assist in the continuing betterment of ever- increasing population
of Filipino American Businesses in San Diego County.
As a result, it has, since its formation in 1985, evolved into a hub of
activity dedicated to addressing a broad spectrum of business issues in
order to:
Foster
Filipino-American relations, in both the commercial and socio-cultural realms;
Assist
its members in business-related social events and in equipping themselves
to handle any entrepreneurship
challenge that may arise in such areas as management, networking, marketing,
solvency, and the development of
business esteem;
Coordinate
strategies for community outreach and development; and
Communicate
regularly with the appropriate private and public entities on matters of
communal concern.
The FACC-San
Diego has built alliances with the US Federation
of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce, the Coalition of the Filipino
American Chambers of Commerce in California, the National Coalition of Asian
American Business Associations, the Greater San Diego Chamber of Commerce,
the Asian Business Association, the National City Chamber of Commerce, and
other local chambers, organizations and associations in California.
Your membership in the FACC
- San Diego ensures you of your representation
to these organizations and any pertinent information obtained as a result
will be made available to you.
Executive Board:
The FACC - San Diego Executive Board which consists of seven (7) Executive
Officers and nine (9) Board of Directors meets every 2nd Tuesday of the
month to map out the direction, operation, and implementation of the various
programs to be embarked upon.
Membership,
Committees, and Events:
FACC-San
Diego will assist you in your business grand opening, ribbon cuttings,
anniversary celebrations, and other
similar marketing or promotional events. You will have access to the membership
directory within our website which is
updated regularly. You can avail of special discounts at the establishments
of participating FACC members. Our library
and database provide vital information to keep you abreast of the business
goings-on in the local, statewide, nationwide,
and international arenas.
FACC
- San Diego conducts educational workshops and seminars and constantly
sponsor programs for your benefit and
that of the business community and the community at-large.
Through
our Government Committee, the FACC-San Diego actively voices its
support of or opposition to legislative measures at the local,
state, and federal levels. This committee regularly meets with our elected
officials to keep the channels of communication
open for the discussion of issues relevant to you and the entire business
community.
FACC-San
Diego holds the monthly Business Networking, which are hosted by members
in turn. These business-lecture/talk cum fun events
will provide you with ample opportunities to establish and enhance intra-Chamber
andmember- non-member interaction
and networking.
The
annual FACC-San Diego gives tribute to those who have, in their
distinct ways, made marked contributions towards improving the professional
image of commerce --- the grand presentation of the "Outstanding Professional
Award (OPA) and the " Outstanding
Businesses Award " (OBA).
To
organize a Chamber of Commerce for the Filipino American business community
of San Diego County.
To
serve, unite and solidify the members of the Filipino American business
community of San Diego County.
To
promote the interests of the FACC business community through various projects
and services.
To
enhance the quality of the members' services and businesses and uphold
the honor, dignity and honesty of their professions and business.
